Delhi - new home of Deutsche Messe's industrial trade fairs in India
Date : 2012-04-04

As of this year, Deutsche Messe will be staging its Indian industrial trade fairs in Delhi. From 21 to 24 November, five fairs - CeMAT INDIA, MDA INDIA, Surface INDIA, Industrial Automation INDIA and Laser INDIA - will be held concurrently at the India Expo Centre in Greater Noida. The fairs feature a broad range of exhibits from worldwide suppliers of intralogistics technology, power transmission and control systems, surface treatment systems, industrial automation solutions and laser technology.

Together with leading industry associations and exhibitors we are providing our customers with a powerful new marketing platform in northeastern India. The state-of-the-art infrastructure of the new exhibition venue in Delhi meets the highest quality standards and enables us to stage a complementary series of conferences. Delhi itself, with its strong industrial base and local population of around 16.3 million, is the ideal location for our fairs and will guarantee large numbers of high-caliber trade visitors. It’s no coincidence that many of the world’s leading corporations, such as Samsung, Nestlé, Coca Cola and Pepsi, have chosen to establish their Indian headquarters in Delhi, commented Deutsche Messe Management Board member Dr. Andreas Gruchow.

Delhi is a major center for a number of industries, including the automotive sector. India’s largest automobile manufacturer, Maruti Suzuki, produces more than 1.2 million cars each year at its facilities in the South of Delhi. The region has also attracted well-known automotive parts suppliers, such as Knorr Bremse and Goodyear Tyres. Other industries that are well represented in the area include the electronics and pharmaceutical industries, the leather goods industry and the mechanical engineering sector. Over the next few years, the entire region around Delhi will benefit from the major infrastructure development work being carried out on the Delhi-Mumbai industrial corridor. The corridor is expected to attract billions of dollars worth of private-sector investment. The first phase of development will focus on the modernization and expansion of the transport infrastructure between the two urban centers as well as the construction of new sea and air ports.

Until now, Deutsche Messe has staged its Indian trade fairs in Mumbai and Bangalore. Last year, from 6 to 9 December, around 400 companies showcased their products and services at the Bangalore International Exhibition Center. The trade fairs were complemented by a program of conferences which has proved extremely popular with trade visitors.  This positive response has prompted us to significantly expand our program of conferences and seminars over the years. The new venue in Delhi, which has state-of-the-art conference facilities, will allow us to continue on this path. It also has the capacity to cater for the new B2B Matchmaking platform we are planning, explained Gruchow. The fairs and accompanying program of conferences and events are co-organized by Deutsche Messe and Hannover Milano Fairs India.
