Danfoss India inaugurates its filter-drier factory in India

Danfoss Industries Private Limited, a leader in mechanical and electronic components and solutions, today inaugurated its new filter-drier factory in Chennai. The factory comprises an area spanning 10000 sq ft and is considered to be the largest filter drier facility in the country. The facility plays an important role in Danfoss’ Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Controls business, and will manufacture filter-driers for Refrigeration and Air-conditioning applications.

Danfoss has invested more than 17 Crores in the facility, creating 60 new jobs. The facility is the first of its kind in the country with a capacity of approximately 2 Million pieces per year, which is a significant increase of Danfoss’ global capacity. This facility will operate as an Export Oriented Unit (EOU) and products produced here will be of highest quality standards for Indian and global markets.

"India is a very important market for Danfoss and the opening of this new factory reinforces our commitment to our customers and distributors here and in the Asia Pacific region. This move is also in keeping with Danfoss’ objective of strengthening its manufacturing base in the country. This facility would specifically help Indian customers with better lead time, reduction in transportation costs and dependence on fluctuating currency." said Mr. Henrik Schurmann, Vice President of Danfoss Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Controls in India.

Danfoss is a global leader in producing filter driers that safeguards equipment against moisture and other impurities to ensure trouble-free usage and longevity of the Refrigeration and Air-conditioning equipment.

Danfoss has been operating in India since 1998 and today Danfoss has 320 employees across 10 offices in the country. In Chennai, it has established a facility to produce pressure switches used in RAC and automation industries. The company drives importance on combining local needs with a global network, and this is illustrated especially well by Danfoss’ intentions of nurturing and expanding its manufacturing base and R&D centre in India.
